Meet Our Team

Our treatment team works with clients to find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.  Blending conventional and alternative approaches, we draw on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each individual.  We will work with clients to help them build on their strengths in order to identify and achieve their goals.  Depending on client needs, we have the ability to offer the services of a variety of behavioral health specialists. 

Managing Partners

  • Dr. H. Alan Goodman Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist

    Dr. Goodman is a Licensed Psychologist and holds a BA from California State University, an MA from the University of the Incarnate Word, and a Ph.D. from St. Mary’s University. Dr. Goodman is a past member of the New Hampshire State Board of Mental Health Practice and Past President of the New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association and the American Mental Health Counselors’ Association. He is a retired Air Force Behavioral Scientist, past corporate Director, and in academia a past Professor, Department Chair, and Dean. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), the New Hampshire Psychological Association (NHPA), and the New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association (NHMHCA). Dr. Goodman specializes in psychological testing and assessment services.

  • Ellen V. A. Papanikolaou MA, LCMHC

    Ellen provides counseling and consultation services to individuals and couples using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, family systems, psychodynamic and solution-focused techniques. As a practical, interactive therapist, her treatment approach is to provide support and feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She received her MA in Clinical Counseling/Psychology in 1997. Her undergraduate degree is a BA in Communications/Public Relations and Public Speaking. She is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors' Association (AMHCA), the current President-Elect of the New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association (NHMHCA), Who's Who for American Women, a former member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the former Production Manager for the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program. A Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) since November 2006, she has also received significant training in the treatment of individuals with substance abuse/addiction disorders. She has completed an intense training course in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and continues her training in motivational and positive psychology. Her professional/personal experiences also include developing a speakers bureau, production management, public relations/public speaking, writing for a medical trade publication, and teaching at the college level.

Medication Services

Matt Payne APRN, Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner

Matthew C Payne is a Board Certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, who is trained in treating individuals across the lifespan. He received his undergraduate degree in Nursing from Mount Wachusett Community College in 2015. He then worked as a psychiatric nurse in the inpatient setting for the next 5 years treating patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders and schizophrenia. In 2020 he earned his Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Regis College. Treatment will primarily consist of medication management, however, Matthew is committed to providing integrative care, focusing on the “whole person” by examining the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of each individual.

  • Tyler J. Bristol, MA, LCMHC

    Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

    Tyler received his undergraduate degree with a double major in psychology and sociology from Stony Brook University in 2010. In 2012 he earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. He also received extensive training in the treatment of individuals with substance use disorders and in working with children and adolescents. He counsels clients from a motivational and strength-based perspective using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapies.

  • Elizabeth Palazzollo, LMFT

    Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

    Elizabeth is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with training and experience in working with couples, families, and individuals. She obtained her BS in Rehabilitation Services from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2009 and her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University New England in 2014. Elizabeth enjoys working with families, adolescents, couples, and adults. Prior to joining Novus Vita Counseling, Elizabeth worked with a team that provided intensive therapeutic services to adolescents and families referred through the juvenile and family court system. Elizabeth approaches difficulties that clients are experiencing from a strength-based and systemic perspective, drawing on interventions from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and general systems theory. She has also completed intensive training in DBT and is certified in Prepare Enrich and the Nurturing Parenting Program.

  • Paul H. Wright, Licensed Psychologist

    Paul Wright is a psychologist with over 27 years of behavioral health experience. He was first certified in 1988 and later licensed as a New Hampshire psychologist and has been in private practice in Derry and Londonderry since that time. Paul earned an undergraduate degree in religion, philosophy, and psychology from American University and a master’s degree from the New School for Social Research in New York. He originally came to New Hampshire in 1975 and has worked at the Youth Development Center, the New Hampshire State Hospital, and the Regional Special Education Consortium before moving into private practice. Paul has counseled clients between the ages of 5 and 75 with varying emotional difficulties.  He particularly enjoys couples counseling and working with substance abuse clients, as well as those with depression and anxiety disorders.  Paul also treats young children using a more systemic approach that integrates the whole family into the process.  

  • Bryan Haak, LCMHC

    Bryan is a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC). He received his master’s degree in clinical counseling in 2021 from Plymouth State University. He began his employment with Novus Vita Counseling, immediately following graduation, as a post-graduate intern, became licensed in 2024 and has decided to continue on with Novus Vita. Bryan has experience working with a range of individuals from adolescence through adult, typically ages 13 – 65. His approach to counseling tends to be cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution focused. His experience includes clients working through depression, anxiety, substance use, and some trauma related issues.

  • Callie Pomeroy

    Callie is a Master’s level clinician who is working, under supervision, towards her licensure as a clinical mental health counselor. Callie received her BS in psychology with a concentration in mental health in 2016 and her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021 from Plymouth State University.  Prior to joining Novus Vita Counseling, Callie worked with children and adolescents in residential treatment programs working in both direct care and clinical roles. Although she works with a variety of populations, she particularly enjoys working with teens, young adults, and those in the LGBTQ+ community.

  • Carol Malouin, LCMHC

    Carol provides counseling services to individuals and families using a number of cognitive behavioral, grief, and trauma-focused methods, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). As a practical, interactive therapist, her treatment approach is to provide support and feedback to help clients resolve current problems and address long-standing patterns. She holds a BA in Teaching at the High School level, from the University of Western Ontario and her Masters degree in Counseling is from Southern New Hampshire University, and was conferred in 2006. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) since November 2009, she has also received significant training in the treatment of children with learning differences and consulted with schools and parents for the benefit of the child. Carol continues her training in positive psychology and integrative treatments so that the whole person is served as much as possible within her scope of practice. Carol sees clients aged 6 to 65. She is a member of the New Hampshire Mental Health Counselors Association (NHMHCA).
